To distill is an ancient knowledge, a sort of complex art. Its origins are unknown.
Simply the name of "acquavite" - "water of life" - suggests a mixture of something that is prodigious and curative mixed with echoes of an ancient chemistry process. Indeed it is a medieval heritage. In that time the Scuola Salernitana - School of Salerno- codified for the first time the rules for the concentration of alcohol through distillation and its therapeutic use. This is a very important aspect, unfortunately not enough considered: grappa has not been born as a simple, lucky coincidence. The roots of the grappa production can be found in a careful and meticulous study. this study developed to a cultural achievement as it is shared and always more appreciated by several people. To expand and innovate the culture of grappa, Roberto Castagner took the decision to reconsider all the items that lead to the production of distillates. Analysing the distillation process he is able to create ad hoc the more appropriate tools to launch a new generation of products in order to please and rediscover the taste.

The LINEA SARTORIALE is a maximun avant-garde collection. A combination of the experience through the centuries and of the need of a modern customer who knows about the value of grappa and who is pleased to share this experience with others, contributing in this way to perform new behaviours/habits based on meditate choices.
